Celtic goalkeeper bet Craig Gordon has suggested to The Record that his unsettled team-mate Dedryck Boyata may have sent a message on the club’s Whatsapp group.
If this message was indeed sent, it is likely to have been something negative which will not please Bhoys fans.
Boyata reportedly wants out of the Scottish giants before the end of the transfer window.
The Bhoys have hit a low this season and uncharacteristically started the season in below-par fashion.
They will not play in the group stages of this seasons Champions League after losing their third qualifying round tie 3-2 on aggregate against Greek club AEK Athens.
This will do nothing to diminish the opinion that many have of the Bhoys which suggest that they are not capable of delivering against the so-called ”big-guns” of European football.
In addition to this, Brendan Rodger’s side are currently in the sixth position on the Scottish Premiership standings bet after two games following their 1-0 defeat against Hearts last Saturday.
This season could be more difficult than usual for the Hoops. They could face stiff competition in the SPL this season.
It is also now up to them to perform well in the Europa League in order to prove that they can indeed deliver competitive displays against big teams in European football.
Boyata reportedly wants out of the club and is said to have refused to play during the game against AEK in order to force his way out of the club before the end of the transfer window.
While addressing the situation surrounding his team-mate, Gordon told The Record: “He might have put something on the group app. I’m not entirely sure. He certainly had an Instagram post on the morning of the game. It said he would be watching for our result.”
If Boyata is intent on leaving, the Hoops should grant him his wish. If he is denied, the Belgium international could become a negative influence within the dressing-room which is always unhealthy to have. bet
